30 Year History of the NHL’s Highest Paid Players

No one can deny that the salary for the NHL’s top paid player has experienced remarkable growth over the past 30 years.  However, Joe Sakic’s income in 1997-98 still stands as the highest one-season salary.  Further, when adjusting for inflation, it is interesting to learn that several other players earned more than John Tavares’s $15,900,000 compensation in 2018-19.
