Barrett Hayton, Arizona Coyotes

This month’s player spotlight is on Peterborough, Ontario native, Barrett Hayton. In 2016, Barrett was selected 9th overall by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds of the Ontario Hockey League. Barrett went on to appear in over 165 OHL games, amassing over 150 points while spending his entire OHL career with the Greyhounds. Two years later, Barrett was selected 5th overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to making his NHL debut, Barrett led Team Canada to a Gold Medal at the 2020 World Junior Championships in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
