Owen Tippett, Florida Panthers
This month’s player spotlight is on Peterborough, Ontario native, Owen Tippett. In 2015, Owen was selected 4th overall by the Mississauga Steelheads in the OHL’s Priority Selection. Owen went on to play over 200 games in the Ontario Hockey League, amassing nearly 130 goals and 250 points over four seasons. Ahead of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Owen was considered by many scouts as the best pure goal scorer in the draft. It took just ten picks for Owen to be selected by the Florida Panthers, making his NHL debut later that year. Most recently, Owen completed his first NHL season, cementing himself as a pivotal piece of hockey in Sunrise. Click the link to watch Owne’s first NHL playoff goal. >
