This month’s player spotlight is on Calgary Flames’ defensemen, Erik Gudbranson. Prior to the NHL, the Ottawa native spent three seasons with the OHL’s Kingston Frontenacs. During this time, he earned a silver medal with Team Canada’s World Juniors along with a gold medal at the World Under-17 tournament. In 2010, Erik was selected 3rd overall by the Florida Panthers and has since amassed nearly 650 regular season NHL games, over eleven seasons. Most recently, Erik was awarded the Calgary Flames’ Peter Maher “Good Guy” Award, presented to the player who displays the highest level of sincerity, integrity, dedication and respect.
