Ryan Strome, New York Rangers
This month’s player spotlight is on Mississauga, Ontario native, Ryan Strome. While playing for the OHL’s Niagara Ice Dogs, Ryan headed into the 2011 NHL Entry Draft as one of the drafts most talented prospects. It took just five picks before the skilled young forward was selected by the New York Islanders. Since entering the NHL is 2013, Ryan has amassed nearly 500 NHL games, splitting time between the Islanders, Oilers and, most recently, the New York Rangers. Since the completion of last season, Ryan’s restricted free agent status led to a lengthy negotiation with the Rangers. On 5-Nov-20, Ryan and the Rangers agreed to terms, as the promising franchise looks to build off of last season’s momentum.
